    Tasted double blind.

Dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose is a bit muted giving way to aromas of berries and tobacco. Flavors of cherries, berries and pepper. Medium to bright acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.

My guess was this is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, perhaps the 2010 Shafer. Man, talk about missing the barn during target practice.

Tasted non blind at a wine tasting.

Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of soapstone, brown sugar, berries and plums. Flavors of berries, black cherries, plums and raspberries. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold. I’d likely hold for a few more years before trying again. (93 points)
