Flavors of black currants, black raspberries, black berries, dark plums and black sweet cherries. Medium acidity, medium to slightly firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or continue to hold. I’d drink over the next 2-3 years myself. (94 points)

    Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of kirsch, black pepper, soapstone and florals. Rich and juicy flavors of plums, berries and cherries. Medium acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with some air or continue to hold. The pretty firm tannin caught me a little off guard. Thought they’d be more resolved by now. (93 points)

    Tasted double blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over abou two hours.

    Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Youthful nose of tar, blueberries, spicebox, mixed dark fruits and a bit of briar patch. Flavors of boysenberries, raspberries and tangy cherries. Slightly clipped finish. Light to medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, medium to full bodied. Slightly drying on the palate. Drink over the short term with some air time or perhaps into the medium term.

    My guess was this is the 2016 Pedernales Tempranillo. (89 points)
