    Dark brown color in the glass, fairly opaque looking. Nose of molasses, almond oil and melted black licorice. Big rich flavors of sorghum and black licorice framed over a nutty, long finish. Medium acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold. (95 points)

    Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of roasted meat, rose petals and mixed dark fruits. Flavors of Bing cherries, raspberries and dark red berries. Medium to bright acidity, slightly firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with some air or continue to hold. (94 points)

    Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of blue fruit, pepper and a hint of balsamic. Flavors of raspberries and berries and hint of cherries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short to medium term.

    My guess was a Spanish Garnacha from the 2015 vintage. Ranked 2 out of 4 in this flight. Nailed it. (91 points)

    Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of smoke, leather, a little roasted meat, a little black pepper and some berries. Flavors of black berries, a little blueberries and a little black raspberries. Medium acidity, drying tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short to medium term.

    My guess was a Spanish Tempranillo from the 2011 vintage. Ranked 3 out of 4 in this flight. (91 points)

    My guess was a Spanish Tempranillo from the 2001 vintage. Ranked 1 out of 4 in this flight. (93 points)

    My guess was a Spanish Tempranillo from the 2008 vintage. Ranked 4 out of 4 in this flight. (90 points)
