My guess was this is a Tempanrillo or a Tempanrillo/Cabernet Sauvignon blend from the Toro region of Spain, likely a 2012 Bodegas y Viñedos Maurodos Toro Viña San Román or similar. (90 points)

  • 2003 Delas Frères Gigondas Les Reinages – France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Gigondas (1/3/2018)
    WIMLNR

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately.

Garnet color in the glass, little dusty looking. Nose was maderized in nature and a bit vegetal to boot. Some flavors of berries and cherries on the palate (yes, I actually tasted it). Medium acidity, resolved tannin, medium body. Drink now if not yesterday. I suspect a provenance problem here as well as being too long in the tooth for this particular bottling. Therefore not rating. (NR/flawed)
