Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours.

Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of violets, white pepper, currants and cocoa powder. Flavors of currants, plums and raspberries. Medium to tangy acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with a little air to blow off some bottle funk or hold. (93 points)

Here we are 5 years later when I said open the next bottle 2-5 years later.

Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of violet, dark chocolate, herbs du Provence and a dash of black pepper. Flavors of Bing cherries, red raspberries and red plums. Medium to tart acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink now.

Bottled under stelvin and aged well. No visible sediment. Last of my two bottles I hauled home as luggage from South Africa. Impeccable provenance. (92 points)

    WIML94+

    Tasted non blind.

Dark garnet to almost purple looking in the glass, clear looking throughout. Still a fairly huge nose of boysenberry, black raspberry jam and sweet dark plums with a little added floral notes drifting underneath. Rich and full flavors of dried plums, raspberries and dark chocolate covered cherries. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold. I’d lean toward drinking over the next 3-4 years with just a little bit of air time before serving. (94 points)
