  • 1994 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay – USA, California, Napa Valley (4/6/2017)
    WIML92

    Tasted blind.

Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of herbs, camphor and creme brulee. Flavors of lemon, lime and mixed yellow fruit. Medium to bright acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink now.

Comes across as pre-mox or really old Chardonnay. Can’t make up my mind which.

My guess was Old World, White Burgundy, Meursault, 2011 Unknown Producer. This only wine I was completely wrong about during this blind tasting. (92 points)
