    Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of soapstone, camphor, potpourri, fennel and mixed dark fruits. Flavors of black raspberries, cherries and plums. Bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold. (93 points)

    Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes.

    Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking with a noticeable, perhaps eighth inch meniscus. No bricking. Nose of melted black licorice, black cherries, earth and a hint of menthol. Nice flavors of black berries and black cherries with a little bit of cinnamon an nutmeg on the finish. Bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold. I’d lean towards drink now. (93 points)

    Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking. Nose of iron, smoke, cigar box and black berries. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and a hint of mint. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short term. (90 points)

    Garnet to rusty color, cloudy throughout. Nose of menthol, rusty iron and black berries. Surprisingly good fruit of fresh black berries, cassis and a hint of mint on the finish. Light acidity, full resolved tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink now with no air. Be sure and stand several days before serving and slowly decant off the sediment and serve immediately. (92 points)

    Dark garnet color in the glass, slightly brown twinge at least around the edges. Nose of barnyard, leather and anise. Flavors of licorice, berries and Ricola. Tart acidity, drying tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink. No rating. Seems a bit pre-moxed or otherwise damaged.
