    Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of blue fruit, pepper and a hint of balsamic. Flavors of raspberries and berries and hint of cherries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink over the short to medium term.

    My guess was a Spanish Garnacha from the 2015 vintage. Ranked 2 out of 4 in this flight. Nailed it. (91 points)

    Dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of leather, bacon, roasted meat. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and plums. Bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink over the short to medium term.

    My guess was a Spanish Tempranillo from the 2001 vintage. Ranked 1 out of 4 in this flight. (93 points)

    Dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of blueberries up front followed by some fertilizer and secondary black raspberries. Flavors of red berries and red raspberries. Tangy to bright acidity, drying tannin, full bodied. Drink over the short to medium term.

    My guess was a Spanish Tempranillo from the 2008 vintage. Ranked 4 out of 4 in this flight. (90 points)

    Purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of roast meat, leather, cocoa powder, plum and boysenberry. Flavors of boysenberry, raspberry and black cherry. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with some air or continue to hold. no rush. (93 points)

    Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two to three hours.

    Purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of asphalt, potpourri, currant, plum and soapstone. Flavors of currants, raspberries, black cherries and some black pepper on the long finish. Medium acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with a little air to open it up or continue to hold. I’d lean towards drinking over the next 3-4 years. (94 points)
