  • 2014 Bodegas Morca Garnacha – Spain, Aragón, Campo de Borja (8/9/2019)
    WIML93

    Tasted double blind.

Dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of leather, bacon, roasted meat. Flavors of black berries, black cherries and plums. Bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink over the short to medium term.

My guess was a Spanish Tempranillo from the 2001 vintage. Ranked 1 out of 4 in this flight. (93 points)

    Tasted non blind with dinner.

Salmon colored in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of berries, light notes of cherries and a bit of tropical fruit. Also thought I picked up a bit of bubble yum. Flavors of berries, light red raspberries and maybe a splash of cherry on the finish. Good acidity, medium body. Drink now. (88 points)
