Medium to bright acidity, firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with a little air or hold. I’d lean towards drink now. I have a feeling this one won’t really improve with more time in bottle. (91 points)

  • 2003 Domaine Charvin Châteauneuf-du-Pape – France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (11/18/2017)
    WIML90

Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over a couple of hours.

Garnet color in the glass with slight brown twinges around the edges, fairly clear otherwise. Nose of dirty diaper, pepper and plums. Flavors of plums and berries. Medium acidity, resolved tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink yesterday. Seemed over the hill slightly or perhaps poorly stored (which I doubt) so no rating. NOTE: Others thought they got TCA, VA or Brett but I got none of that myself.
