  • 2002 d’Arenberg Shiraz The Dead Arm – Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale (11/25/2020)
    WIMLNR

Tasted non blind. Followed over 3 1/2 hours. Nose was much better after 90 minutes of air time.

Nose started with a heavy nail polish that dissipated with 90 minutes of air time followed by aromas of Kirsch, plum and a hint of acacia flowers. Flavors of tart black berries, raspberries and cherries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Comes across as a bit hot although the bottle says alcohol is only 14.5%. I think we pushed the age limit for this bottling. Drink now with a 90 minute decant.
