DALLAS 2ND WEDNESDAY GROUP – NOVEMBER 2012 – Michael Byington’s house in North Dallas (11/3/2012)
The Dallas 2nd Wednesday Group got together Saturday night this month. When this group was started many years ago (a few years prior to my joining) the first wine dinner was a Zinfandel tasting. Every year since we have a Zinfandel tasting in commemoration of that first dinner. This year we gathered at our fearless leaders’ place in North Dallas for some excellent smoked meats and tasty Zinfandels The company as usual was stellar. Here are the results of the tasting:
- 2010 Antica (Antinori) Chardonnay – USA, California, Napa Valley, Atlas Peak

Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of pineapple, lychee and camphor. Flavors of dried pineapple, lemon and creme fraiche. Medium acidity, medium to full bodied. Drink over the next 5 years. (91 points)

Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, pretty clear looking. Nose of camphor, white pepper, melted licorice and a bit of berries. Flavors of berries, raspberries and cherries. Medium acidity, medium tannins, full bodied. Drink or hold. Yes, I said that. Drink or hold although I’d likely drink. (92 points)
