Villa’s Grill is a locally owned and operated Churrascaria; a Brazilian steakhouse that serves open fired meats that are brought to you on spits and carved onto your plate tableside by your servers. Tucked away on South Main Street in old downtown Irving it would be easy for Villa’s Grill to fly under your radar; that would be a mistake. That is especially true for the true carnivore of diners.
We arrived a little before our 7PM reservation time on a Saturday night and we’re quickly greeted and shown to our awaiting table and waiting dining partners for the evening. The space is a fairly small venue so don’t be surprised that even if you do have a reservation that you might be asked to wait a few minutes until your table is cleared. Thus is the nature of Churrascaria; you dine at a leisurely pace of your own choosing.
Villa’s Grill encourages you to start your meal at the waiting salad bar. Although the salad bar is a bit smallish compared to larger competitor Churrascaria the choices are good and everything is fresh and plentiful. Once you have your fill of salad bar offerings it is time to start with your meat festival. You flip your card from red to green and you’re off the races. Your servers surround you with standard Churrascaria offerings non-stop until you ultimately throw in the towel and return your card to red for a much needed break. Repeat this process until you’re ready to toss in the towel for the evening. Villa’s Grill standard offerings include:
- Picanha (house specialty)
- Bottom Sirloin
- Pepper Sirloin
- Top Sirloin
- Chicken Breast
- Garlic Picanha
- Chicken Legs
- Parmesan Pork Tender Loin
- Leg of Lamb
- Beef Sausage
- Chicken Breast Wrapped in Bacon
- Roast Pineapple
I found all of the standard Churrascaria offerings to be good with the house specialty Picanha and the Garlic Picanha being the standouts.
Villa’s Grill is BYOB so feel free to bring your favorite bottle of wine to accompany your dinner. There is no corkage fee. Bring your own stemware if you’re picky about stemware because their stemware is very basic and limited availability.
Villa’s Grill is open for lunch Monday through Saturday from 11AM until 3PM. They are open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 5PM until 10PM. Reservations are accepted and are recommended on the business weekend evenings for this smallish venue. Attire is casual; golf shirt and nice golf shorts are acceptable. Parking is free on the street but you may have to walk up to a block during busier times. Major credit cards are accepted.
Villa’s Grill: Recommended for a casual meat drunk that won’t break the bank.

One of our favorite BYOBs in the DFW area!
