Nagoya Japanese restaurant has been serving Sushi and Hibachi (Teppanyaki) for roughly 8-10 years. Their current location is in a stylish building located on Arbrook Blvd directly across from the Parks Mall. The interior is dominated by sleek metal surfaces, dark woods and stark contrasts of white scattered throughout. We noted some of the areas are starting to show a bit of wear and could use some minor repairs.
Our appetizer to begin the evening was the Heart Attack Roll ($11.99) consisting of crab and avocado topped with jalapeño slices. I didn’t care for the crab myself; I didn’t think the crab was that fresh. I would pass on this roll in the future.
My entrée for the evening was the Filet Mignon & Scallops Hibachi Dinner ($25.00). I thought both the filet mignon and scallops were well prepared and fresh other than they did lack a bit of seasoning to suit my tastes. Every Hibachi dinner includes a two piece shrimp appetizer (good), Japanese Chicken Soup (OK), Salad with House Dressing (OK), Teppanyaki Vegetables (OK) and white rice that can be upgraded to fried rice for $2.50 (Good). Overall the Hibachi was good; not great. I’d likely order again understanding it serves the purpose; a filling, satisfying meal that doesn’t reach the highest of highs.
Service was good throughout. No complaints on that front.
Nagoya does not allow BYOB. They have a full liquor license.
